In line with our environmental storytelling through the Sharky & Co series, we aim to enhance our support for ecosystems and wildlife populations, especially sharks and their homes! We aspire to achieve this through our new Sharky & Co T-Shirts project.
Over time, we shall extend our Sharky & Co T-Shirt range with further designs, offering a variety of options to our valued customers. With each T-Shirt sold, we duly compensate our suppliers for their contributions and subsequently allocate all remaining profits to charity. Our first designated charity is Apex Extreme (Charity Number 1183466).
Apex Extreme's Take Out The Trash Campaign mobilizes the charity's volunteers to execute the efficient removal of litter from various environments, encompassing urban, woodland, forest, and coastal areas. Click here for further information on Apex Extremes Take Out The Trash Campaign.
The threats posed by litter in ocean pollution are numerous and dire. Marine litter, ranging from plastic bags to discarded fishing gear, poses entanglement hazards to marine life, including sharks. Sharks, being apex predators, play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems. However, they are not immune to the dangers of litter. Sharks can become entangled in debris, suffer injuries, or mistake plastic for food, leading to internal blockages or poisoning. Furthermore, litter in the ocean can degrade habitats, disrupt food chains, and contribute to the overall decline of marine biodiversity. Therefore, efforts to mitigate ocean pollution and remove litter are essential for safeguarding not only sharks but the entire marine environment.
